Look Mom, No Cavities!

Well, today is Halloween and none of us here at Infinity Dental Web wore a costume. We are a bunch of party poopers! I will admit that we do have candy and pumpkin bread, so at least we are not total slackers.
Speaking of Halloween, Dr. Hall brought up a point a couple of days ago that none of us were aware of. He explained that when eating candy, it is less harmful to eat a large amount at one sitting than to space consumption throughout the day. He went on to tell us that not just candy, but carbohydrates are bad for your teeth since they stick to your teeth and give the bacteria something to feed on.
Remember this tonight as your children are going through their trick or treat bags and eating more than they are putting back in the bag. Just be sure that they brush and floss before going to bed. Then, once they are in bed, go ahead and take an handful (or two) of the candy for yourself. And don’t feel guilty about eating it all at one time, it’s better for your teeth, AND you’ll hide the evidence!
