Say Hello to Google+ Local
Date: June 15, 2012Category: Author: Julie
As some of you may have noticed, on May 30th, Google changed the format of their business listings. Your Google Business Listing has now been changed to a Google+ local listing.
What does this mean to you? Right now, not much, as Infinity Dental Web manages your listing. But over the next few months, Google will be merging these listings with Google+ Business Pages. It is still unclear as to how the integration will be handled. Right now, unless you already have a Google+ Business Page, there is really nothing you need to do. As these changes are rolled out, we will be in contact with you and advise of proper steps. However, if you already have set up a Google+ Business Page, please send an email to julie@infinitydentalweb.com for further instructions on how we can best manage your page.
It is important to point out one of the changes that occurred; if a patient wants to leave a review on your Google+ local listing, they must have a Google+ account. This may be a deterrent for some patients since they will no longer be able to leave a review under a nickname, but will have to reveal their true identity. Please keep this in mind when asking for reviews, and offer alternative sources for patients to leave their posts (such as Yelp, Kudzu, Yahoo, etc.)
