New Panda Update for June 2015
Date: June 5, 2015Category: Author: David Hall
The Search Marketing Expo (SMX) for advanced search engine professionals took place this past week in Seattle and the big announcement there came from Google’s Gary Illyes. According to Illyes we should be seeing a Panda data refresh in the next 2 to 4 weeks. Illyes was clear that this is not an algorithm alteration, but a data refresh.
What does the Panda June update mean to you and your website?
Well put simply, the data refresh means that those of you who previously had your SEO penalized for Panda violations and consequently cleaned up your sites may get some relief. On the flip side of that coin those who thought they had slipped past Panda and continued to add what Google considers poor quality content may experience some negative positioning in the Google results pages. As with any Google data refresh there will also be some “false positives” so it is important to keep an eye on your rankings in the next few weeks.
It also seemed pretty clear that this data refresh would only be affecting Panda criteria and not the recent mobilegeddon algorithm update of April 21st which has been slow to develop.
Feel free to check back on this article as I will be sure to update it and let everyone know when we see signs that the refresh is complete.
