Job Title
Senior Marketing Consultant
Tell us about what you do
I help the company in a variety of ways, including recruiting writers, plotting business development, and developing marketing strategies for our clients. One key thing I do is analyze and consult with clients whose websites are underperforming. If they’re not getting enough phone calls from prospective patients, or if they’re attracting the wrong patients, I go over their branding, search performance, and other aspects of their marketing and figure out how to help them. Often there are services we can offer them that they weren’t aware of that will turn them around and make their practice successful.
What’s your favorite thing about your career?
Marketing is my passion. I love the balance between data and creativity in marketing and the opportunity to help people make better decisions on how to spend their hard-earned money.
What’s your proudest professional accomplishment?
I was in charge of relaunching the Maytag brand at Whirlpool. We invested more than $75 million and won two major advertising awards while bringing the brand roaring back to life.
What was your first job?
My first professional job was in my father’s dental office when I was 14. I helped with the monthly accounting reports and checked that the accounts were balanced.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would depend on how long the rest of my life was. If it was my last meal I would probably opt for Ribeye steak and cheesecake, but if I had to live on one thing for fifty years it would probably have to be some über-healthy nutritionally balanced green smoothie.
List two pet peeves.
Careless driving would rank near the top of my annoyances list. I also get really bugged when movies or TV shows show drivers who can’t seem to focus on the road. Is it bad acting or is the director trying to set up the audience for an auto accident?
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
When I lived in Brazil I ate chicken feet, chicken hearts, pig face, and goat marrow.
Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous?
I am a direct descendent of King Henry II of England, though I don’t get invited to very many family reunions.
How many languages do you speak?
I’ve studied five languages and speak three: English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
