Make sure you know who may be creating GLBL’s for your business.

One of the many aspects of our clients’ online presence that Infinity Dental Web manages is the ranking of their Google Local Business Listings. As we all know, Google is interested in becoming the go-to resource for ANY kind of information, including the kind of information you used to open up your local yellow pages to find.
Google designed Google Places (originally Google maps) to eventually become a replacement for the yellow pages. But a lot of the kinks have not been worked out yet.
Often, a business will be unaware that MULTIPLE listings exist within Google Places for their business (created by bored employees, marketing companies, and sometimes by Google). These ‘duplicate listings’ can hurt the ranking of your GLBL, as well as the URL that may be attached to that GLBL.
We advise you to do what you can to determine whether you have redundant listings for your business within Google Places and to make sure that none are ever created.
If you have questions about the GLBL portion of the local search optimization we perform for our clients, or about our other SEO services, please contact us.
