Huge Surge in Appointment Requests in Pandemic Week 10

It’s week 10 from the recommended restrictions of dental practice issued by the American Dental Association (March 17) due to COVID-19 and the third week from the return to seeing patients that happened in many states on May 1. After large increases when we reported April 30 and May 7, there was a tapering off in our May 14 report. The data from this week show a great surge in appointment requests, to 43% above the weekly average we saw in 2019. Here is the graph:
What we are hearing from our clients is that those who have re-opened are very busy trying to catch up with missed hygiene appointments.
Not all states are fully open. Some of our clients in California will be opening next week. We’ll report again next week.
