How well does your website design convert?

At Infinity Dental Web, we not only track Internet traffic going to your website, we also track how well your website converts to calls. We do this by monitoring and sometimes listening to the calls coming from your website.
We also track the online appointment requests.
Our websites are designed carefully with the intention for converting patients. It has been proven that when one visits a website, and the design is confusing and not of high quality, the person will leave and go to another website in less than 8 seconds, regardless of how wonderful your practice is. This means you have less than 8 seconds to WOW someone to stay on your website. So how does one get a person to stay? Here are some tips to follow:
- Avoid designs that are too flashy or cluttered. Don’t design your website to look look like a flashing billboard. This is a turnoff for people, because no one wants to be sold to.
- Build a sense of warmth and trust into the design. You can do this by choosing images and colors wisely. A photo of the doctor or of the doctor and staff on the home page helps to do this.
- Create white space within the design. Make sure the text and images are not cluttered close together so that the Internet visitors eyes feel rested when first landing upon your website.
- Limit the navigation and action items. This so the Internet visitor knows right where to find things on your website.
- If you practice cosmetic dentistry, you MUST have a decent smile gallery displaying your skill. Before and after head shots and smile close-up images of your patients really convert patients! (This page is the most visited for cosmetic procedures!)
- About the doctor page is an absolute must, whether you practice general and/or cosmetic dentistry. There should be a doctor’s bio, continuing education, professional organizations, philanthropic activates, and something personal to add a sense of warmth about the doctor. Show you are human and caring!
- Believe it or not, a page about your friendly staff is a huge influence too. Show pictures of each staff member, and ask them to write a brief bio about themselves and what they enjoy most about their profession.
- Show pictures of your office too. Remember, many people fear going to a dentist, so make your website appear inviting!
- Make it your goal in 2013 to add videos to your website. An introduction video by the doctor on the home page is a huge conversion tool. Video patient testimonials really work well too. The video doesn’t need to be a professional work of art either.
- If you’re a member of the AACD, Dear Doctor has created 5 dental procedure videos for you to add to your website. Contact me if you want to learn more about this.
