Guerrilla Marketing

As I was driving home from Infinity Dental Web the other day, I began to take notice of all the dental offices in my area. Within a three mile radius I saw eight different practices. I did some research via the Internet and learned that many other suburban areas are experiencing an over saturation of dentists. No wonder I receive at least 2 or 3 mailings every day from dentists offering new patients specials and other promotional offers.
So what can you do to stand out from the others? Well, have you ever heard of the term “guerrilla marketing”? Guerrilla Marketing is a concept introduced by Jay Conrad Levinson. It is an unconventional approach to advertising and promotion. Instead of relying on a large marketing budget, this type of marketing relies on imagination, time, and energy. It uses unexpected, unconventional, and interactive concepts to appeal to consumers. Some examples would be to use PR stunts, street giveaways, and chance public encounters to engage your audience. It is the process of obtaining maximum results from minimal resources.
I have included a photo of what one dental office did to attract patients, talk about low cost!
Of course, social media can be also be used for guerrilla marketing, and it is a great place to begin! But don’t just focus on new patients. Be sure to engage with your existing patients online to help to grow your relationship. Those that feel a personal bond are less likely to stray or move on to another dentist.
Encourage your staff to get involved and use your imagination, the possibilities are endless!
