Google Calling?

In the past couple of weeks, a few of our Infinity Dental Web clients have been receiving calls from Google representatives regarding their Google Place pages. This was very surprising to me since I cannot EVER get a live representative to talk to me from Google. One of my clients arranged a conference call with me so I could actually speak to one of these representatives. I was rather excited since this particular client was experiencing some issues with Google merging their listings and I was hoping the representative could solve this problem.
Well, I should have known better. Once the call started, I asked the Google representative named Tracy what he was calling about. Tracy explained, “I was calling to let (client) know about a new service that we are offering on her Google Place page called Adwords Express.” I just shook my head and said, “Oh, so this is a sales call?” Tracy went on to say that, “No, it wasn’t a sales call, just a courtesy call.” I let out a chuckle and listened to his “courtesy” pitch to my client. Sure sounded like a sales call to me!
