Facebook Ads: Short and Sweet

Move aside Google, Facebook reigns supreme (once again), and this time it’s in the online advertising kingdom. Its ease of use, and multi-faceted ROI (return on investment) makes it a dream for a dental practice to use.
ROI on Ads
Tracking ROI on Facebook Ads is easier, in some aspects, than tracking the ROI of ‘traditional’ advertising. How many magazine ads let you see all the data laid out in a nifty graft? Facebook is dominating the online advertising world because of one simple reason-demographic segmentation.
In basic terms, Facebook allows you to place an ad that is shown to EXACTLY who you want it to be. You can focus on age, gender, city and more. So if you’re looking for 35-year-old women, in your city, with the finances and need for a complete smile makeover-Facebook will surely deliver a bigger ROI than Google will.
Facebook Ads actually have multiple benefits. They allow you to reach people in your target demographic, as well as expand your Facebook profile’s presence. While one person may not need a root canal right this minute, they may need a bridge in a few months. By getting your content in front of them now, and encouraging them to like your page-they are more likely to see and engage with your profile later. The more they see and trust you, the more likely they are to be a wonderful patient!
So not only does a Facebook Ad drive people to your website, it creates a stronger connect with people in the long run. How much an ad costs depends on your city, target demographic, and how long you would like the ad to run. So while this gives a general overview, exact costs may vary!
Types of Ads
Boosted/Promoted Posts
If you’re just getting into Facebook Ads, this is what you should start with. These are essentially the same ad-but with a different market segmentation. A boosted post can go out to people who like your page, plus their friends and family. This will increase the amount of people who see your page, and may get you more engagement in the long run. If, however, you want to advertise solely to your existing Facebook demographic-then promoting the post is your best bet. This will make your ad visible to only people who ‘like’ your page, but will keep the ad itself running much longer.
At IDW we recommend boosting posts for a low budget, but high return ad. In fact, we recently ran a boosted ad for a client and their reach went up over 8,000% and their engagement topped 400%!
Yeah, you read those numbers correctly!
Page Post link
This is what most people think of when they think of Facebook ads. A large image (or video) with text. An eye-catching image can enhance your offer and entice people to click through to your page.
Carousel Ad (or a Multi Image Ad)
This type of ad is exactly what it sounds like. Multiple images that rotate, giving each image the same amount of time. Essentially, you can promote multiple products for the same, small price.
Domain Link
Of the different types of Facebook ads, this one is the simplest. It is essentially a title, short description, picture, and URL in the right hand column of your feed. While its click through rate is smaller than the other ad types, it may also cost you less.
