Week 11 after the shutdown from COVID-19 pandemic is the fourth week of the return to seeing patients in many states.
Last week showed a huge surge in appointment requests, which has tapered off somewhat this week but continues strong. Last week’s appointment requests were 143% of normal. This past week our data shows patient-initiated appointment requests to be at 110% of normal. We are taking “normal” to be the average number of weekly appointment requests for the entire year 2019. The solid green states are fully open with no restrictions. We note that even in states that have been closed to all but emergency dental visits, practices are still receiving requests from patients for non-emergency dental visits.
