When I first heard that Tyler moving from his technical engineer position at Infinity Dental Web to contract work as one of our designers,  so he could also work at an art gallery in Scottsdale, my first thought was, “What’s going to become of Poetry Corner?”  Joking aside, I wasn’t looking forward to the task that awaited me — finding someone who could fill his shoes.

I have to say here that Dave Hall (president of Infinity Dental Web) is the master hirer.  He has a penchant for testing, quizzing, and evaluating aptitudes.  That being the case, I was happy to wait in the background while Dave did the heavy lifting involved with the initial applicant hunting and screening process.

Well, initially our plan was to hire one person full time to replace Tyler, but as we went through the hiring process we had two different applicants that we were equally impressed with.  Rather than choose between them, Dave had the idea to hire both of them on a part-time basis.  I thought that was a great idea, especially because it puts us in a better position to be able to ramp up our technical staff as we anticipate potentially bringing on a larger number of new clients within the next 6 months.

So, without further ado, welcome to our new staff members.

Grahame Aitchison

Grahame has been working in web development for… a number of years.  Unfortunately I don’t have any of my notes on his background here with me so I can’t give specifics.  However, having worked with him for a couple of weeks now I expect that he will be a very capable addition to our team.

 

Jennifer Kellis

Jennifer Kellis creates websites.  It’s that simple.  That’s what her website says – www.jennkellis.com, and after seeing her work I can validate her claim.  Jennifer is going to be mainly responsible for helping me with tasks relating to our client’s mobile sites.  I have tasked her with digging into and staying abreast of jQuery Mobile Framework innovations and other mobile technologies.  Jennifer also has a great creative streak which we will definitely leverage to the advantage of our clients in the appeal of their mobile designs.
