Hangouts are a relatively new feature being offered by Google that can be a quick and easy way to boost your online visibility with video. The reason many dentists don’t use video as part of their online marketing is the time and trouble it takes to produce and publish the video. Google Hangouts streamline that process with a very informal format.
With a Google Hangout, you can include anywhere from 2 to 10 people in different locations. In its simplest version, a member of our staff could converse with you about a particular service that you offer or an area of your expertise. Or you could include several members of your staff, or possibly other dentists. While the production of the video is simple from your end, the technology is actually pretty sophisticated. For example, the video will seamlessly switch screens to whoever is talking allowing the video to focus on group interaction rather than a one-on-one conversation. Another special feature of the Hangouts tool is that they can be broadcast live on air for anyone to watch. Viewers even have the ability to type in comments or questions that the participants can answer live. But the most attractive feature, as far as your online marketing is concerned, is that they can be published and posted automatically and immediately to your YouTube channel. We can then arrange to create a transcript and optimize it for the appropriate search terms. Remember that YouTube is the world’s second largest search engine. Additionally, YouTube videos, if well optimized, will get excellent placement in Google universal search.
